The update works fine for me so far. But I can’t get the LocationFree to work yet, as instructions are refering to a newer model of LocationFree base unit.

If your PSP™ system software version is 2.50 (or later), you do not need to perform this update. To check the version of your system software, select "System Settings" under from the home menu, and then select "System Information".

Depending on the software title, you may not be able to play without first updating the system software.
This system software update includes all features contained in previous versions.
