Unleash the power of your Siemens Speedstream 6520
I have been using a Siemens Speedstream 6520 for my DSL connection from Bell for over a year. I found that the options in the router’s interface somewhat limited. It turns out Bell has crippled the interface, disabling many options, such as Dynamic DNS support. I couldn’t find a Siemens original firmware to upload but I found a solution.
Apparently, the options are still there, but Bell used a different home page hiding these options. All you need is some HTML magic.
Download these files, extract them to any folder and edit them. Both show router IP as 192.168.2.1, edit it to match your router. Then open index.htm via IE, Firefox, or your favorite web browser and voila. You’ll see whole option list on the left side.
As a test, I enabled Dynamic DNS support and it worked like a charm. Happy surfing
I have been using this for my dads speedstream and it works great. The link doesn’t work anymore for the files. Could they be made available again please? Many thanks.
Yeah, I totally forgot the Fileserve changed their rules for downloads. I’ll update the links shortly.

To better manage (discipline) my children’s internet access, I have introduced User Profiles and access time controls on my Siemens Speedstream 6520. It limits their access to a single time range, my preference would include a max accumulated throughout a day.
There are 5 members of the family, plus other connected devices that will also require configuration to enable their seamless connection.
I’m having problems setting up User Profiles;
(1) part way thru setting up my 6th user the process hung, now I can’t complete the setup nor delete it to start again.
(2) now I have 6 User Profiles, the ADD NEW USER icon has disappeared ?
If I delete a User Profile, the remaining 5 are displayed and the ADD NEW USER icon returns in the window.
My questions are:
(A) is there a max of 6 USER PROFILES ?
(B) how do I delete this incomplete 6th User Profile ?
(C) is there someway I can support device access without requiring a User Profile ?
Thanks..
